RTP Basics (5 questions)

What does RTP mean?

Return to Player. It's the long-run average return, expressed as a percentage of total wagers, that a slot is designed to pay over millions of spins. A 96% RTP slot returns 96 units for every 100 wagered over a very large sample. It is not a guarantee for any session — short-run variance can push your actual returns significantly above or below the published figure.

How is RTP calculated on Pin Up slots?

Providers calculate RTP from the game's internal symbol tables and probability distributions. Independent testing labs (iTechLabs, eCOGRA, GLI) then certify the calculation. Pin Up runs the certified slot software — they don't recalculate or modify RTP at the operator level. Full explanation of the calculation.

Is the published RTP accurate?

Yes, for certified slots from major providers on Pin Up. My 38,000-spin cumulative tracking shows actual returns converging on theoretical figures within normal variance across NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Microgaming, and Play'n GO catalogs. Any individual session will deviate from theoretical because of variance, but the long-run aggregate matches published figures.

Who verifies Pin Up's RTP figures?

Three main testing labs: iTechLabs, eCOGRA, and GLI (Gaming Laboratories International). These labs audit slot code, verify symbol tables, and certify the calculated RTP. Pin Up runs licensed provider software so the existing certifications are valid for the Pin Up deployment. Pin Up itself holds a Curacao licence under OGL/2024/580/0570.

Can Pin Up change a slot's RTP?

Not directly — Pin Up runs the provider's certified software. However, some providers offer multiple RTP variants of the same slot (Pragmatic's Wolf Gold has 96.01%/95.02%/94.02%/92.02% versions) and Pin Up chooses which variant to serve. On verified checks, Pin Up generally serves the top variant. Verify the exact figure in the game info panel before a long session.

Highest-Paying Slots (5 questions)

What's the highest RTP slot on Pin Up?

Mega Joker by NetEnt at 99% in Supermeter mode is the highest RTP slot on Pin Up. Jackpot 6000 (98.86%, also Supermeter-dependent) is second. 1429 Uncharted Seas by Thunderkick at 98.6% is third and is the top pick for players who don't want to manage Supermeter mode. See the top 20 page.

Is Mega Joker really 99%?

Yes, but only in Supermeter mode. The 99% applies to the side-game that unlocks after certain wins. In regular base play the effective RTP drops to around 76%. Many players never activate Supermeter and never experience the 99% figure. If you're playing Mega Joker for the math, verify you're in Supermeter mode before every spin sequence. Full NetEnt context.

What's the best NetEnt slot by RTP on Pin Up?

Mega Joker (99% Supermeter) or Blood Suckers (98% base play) depending on whether you want to manage mode state. Blood Suckers is the easier pick — no special requirements, low volatility, reliable performance over my 2,000-spin log at 97.3% actual return.

Is 1429 Uncharted Seas actually worth playing?

Yes. It's my favourite high-RTP slot on Pin Up. 98.6% RTP without any special mode, medium volatility, and the expanding-wild free-spins mechanic produces satisfying bonus rounds. My 1,200-spin log came in at 98.1% — basically on theoretical. It's technically a Thunderkick title and is underrated on most affiliate "top" lists.

Which Pragmatic Play slot has the highest RTP on Pin Up?

888 Gold, Hot Safari, and Peking Luck are tied at 97.5%. 888 Gold is the one I'd recommend for bonus clearing because it's low volatility while the other two are medium. All three are mathematically competitive with NetEnt's top tier. Full Pragmatic breakdown.

Jackpots and Volatility (5 questions)

How do jackpot slots affect RTP?

Jackpot slots have two RTP figures: base RTP (what you experience spin by spin without hitting the jackpot) and total RTP (including the jackpot contribution pool). For Mega Moolah, base is 88.12% and total is ~96.4%. Most players never hit the jackpot, so they experience the base figure. Full jackpot explanation.

Why is Mega Moolah's base RTP so low?

Because 8.28 percentage points of every wager go into the progressive jackpot pool. The base-game RTP (without the jackpot pool) is 88.12%. If you're playing Mega Moolah and not hitting the jackpot (statistically almost certain), you're bleeding 12% per spin on average — worse than almost every other slot on Pin Up.

Is high volatility always bad?

No. High volatility produces bigger wins but requires larger bankrolls to survive cold streaks. If you have the bankroll for it and can handle the emotional ride, high-vol slots like Book of Dead are fine. If you're playing on a small bankroll or trying to clear bonus wagering, stick to low or medium vol. Volatility guide.

What's the best low-volatility slot on Pin Up?

Blood Suckers. 98% RTP, low volatility, frequent small wins. It's the textbook choice for bonus clearing and long sessions with small bankrolls. Starburst (96.09%, low vol) and Aloha Cluster Pays (96.4%, low vol) are also solid low-vol options if you want variety.

Does volatility change over time?

No. Volatility is a property of the game's mathematical design and doesn't change. What feels like volatility changing is actually your own session variance — hot runs feel like low-vol kicking in, cold runs feel like high-vol. The math hasn't moved; your sample has. The underlying game is identical from the first spin to the last.

Bonuses and Wagering (5 questions)

Does the Pin Up welcome bonus work on high-RTP slots?

Yes. The 120% welcome bonus contributes to wagering on most slots, though contribution rate varies by game. High-RTP low-volatility slots like Blood Suckers are the best for clearing wagering efficiently because they produce frequent small wins that satisfy requirements without burning through your bankroll.

Which slots clear wagering fastest?

Low-volatility slots with high RTP. Blood Suckers (98%, low vol) is the canonical choice. 888 Gold (97.5%, low vol) and Irish Charms (97.1%, low vol) are Pragmatic alternatives. Avoid high-vol slots for wagering because they can bust your bankroll before you finish. See volatility guide for bonus wagering notes.

Do bonus games affect RTP?

Bonus games are already included in the published RTP figure. The total RTP accounts for expected bonus triggers at their theoretical frequency and average payout. When you see 96% RTP on a slot with bonus rounds, that figure already includes the bonus EV — it's not an "extra" RTP on top.

Can I play video poker for bonus wagering?

Usually yes, but video poker typically contributes at a lower rate to wagering requirements than slots (often 10–20% vs 100% for slots). Check the bonus terms — video poker's higher RTP doesn't always translate to faster clearing because of the lower contribution. See video poker page.

How does Pin Up weight different games for wagering?

Slots usually contribute 100%, live casino 10–20%, table games 10%, video poker 10%. The exact rates are in the bonus terms when you claim a bonus. Low-contribution games take longer to clear wagering even if you're winning. Always read the specific bonus terms before you commit to a game.

Database Methodology (5 questions)

How do I verify your RTP database is accurate?

Cross-reference against the provider's official game info page (NetEnt.com, PragmaticPlay.com, etc.) for the certified RTP figure. Then check the Pin Up game info panel in-game to verify which variant Pin Up is serving. If both figures match my database, it's accurate. Everything is sourced from published documentation rather than affiliate rumour.

How often is the database updated?

Monthly. I publish a changelog blog post on the first Monday of each month listing additions, removals, and updated tracking data. Individual game entries are refreshed more frequently as new session logs accumulate. See the latest updates on the blog.

Where do the personal tracking numbers come from?

From my own play sessions on Pin Up over the last 14 months. 38,000+ spins total across 50+ games. Every number is from a real spin log — I don't fabricate session data. CSV exports are available on request for any game where I've logged 1,000+ spins.

Can I download the database as a CSV?

Not yet as a public download, but I share the dataset on request for researchers and writers. Contact me on Twitter (@nehasharma_rtp) with what you're working on and I'll send the latest CSV export. Public downloads may be added later depending on demand.

Why don't you include every single Pin Up slot?

Because the database is meaningful, not exhaustive. I include slots I've personally verified as available on Pin Up, with certified RTP figures from major providers, and with enough playtime to have some observational signal. Pin Up has 9,000+ total games — listing them all without verification would make the database less useful, not more.
